Future AIs will operate at scales and speeds that mean we can’t oversee them directly. We need ways to scale human oversight, with trustworthy evidence that rules are obeyed. That is what Oath is building.
The hardest part of this problem is specifying what humans want in a way that is understandable and robust to AI deception. The alternative, trusting powerful AIs without understanding what they do, seems unlikely to go well.
Our aim is to keep humans safe and in control as we move through these extraordinary times.
